I didn't even have problems in 2nd on my old (400hp) car in a straight line (with good r1r tyres granted).
So your maybe pulling 260-280lb and spinning up 4th in a mid engined car.
Something sounds off to me.
I thought you didn't drive in the wet though?

It will spin in 4th when its damp / wet, and you really have to push it in 3rd to do it in the dry. The amount of muck and dirt on some of the Welsh roads just exaggerated the spinning and the fact I need a tweak at my geo setup and maybe a rethink on my brake setup.

He did say t1r,
Terrible tyres, struggles for traction even in the dry with the toyo rears too. Bought them new, well scrubbed in, got about 5mm left, they'll be getting replaced soon.

dude, there's 'braking for a corner'... and then there's almost stopping to go round it...

...my Dad's V6 keeps up really well with mine when both on full chat... the only part when it starts to drop back is when he reaches the top of his rev range before he changes gear, and I've still got a little left before I do the same... if the V6 could rev to the same level as the turbo then I reckon it'd be pretty much like for like

This is wet only problems?

So 2nd/3rd completely undrivable also?
Problems only on the B roads or spinning in 4th on the motorway too? Just trying to narrow anything down that isn't to do with tyres (maybe over inflated?)

Mine has been driven plenty hard enough in the damp where ive been caught out in those conditions, just not pouring with rain (out of choice).

On a B road you have to do plenty to pull away from the 3.0 v6s (assuming they are being pushed), I could only pull on a 2gr once in 3rd and 4th on the straights. Granted this was in the dry.

I would be more concerned than proud of spinning up in the wet in 4th.

something needs looking at if your having problems in 4th gear in a straight line on a near standard car!
I've never heard such 'proud' claims.
Indeed, I'd also suggest some new tyres.

A few bits of the run were quite slippery if your tyres aren't the best... I had a few sideways moments powering out of corners in my NA, but that's what you get with Nexen's on the back. Can't wait to get my Advans back on with decent rubber.

The standard 0-60 times tell their own story. 2 seconds is an age. :)
If you're used to 300+ bhp it merely magnifies the situation.

Bear in mind that I've only had the car for 4 weeks and am still getting to grips.
Sunday was the first time I have had a chance to wind up the elastic.

The main difference I found is the comparative lack of torque.
That means overtakes require a much greater degree of anticipation.
On roads you don't already know that can make a big difference.

Not quite up to T2 handling wise but that has a lot of mods.
Plus it could benefit from some better quality round black things.
I'll do that at the same time as fitting my 16" Enkei Peaks.
Got to finish refurbing them first though.
There is a slight pull to one side so needs a geo check too.
Plus as Vinny helpfully pointed out the n/s/f wing needs a repaint.

All minor things which I need to sort out over the coming months.

It's also so much quieter, especially at the legal limit on a motorway.
The only way I can tell if the engine is running is to watch the rev counter!
That all sounds quite familiar. Still though, I find them quite fun when you get it right as you have to work harder to get the most out of it.

Turbo or V6 is on the cards for mine I think!

I've got T1r's on the rear of my rev3 turbo and they were perfectly fine.. The back end only stepped out when I asked it to and I certainly wasn't wheel spinning in any gear

This was the first time I had driven my car so it was completely unknown.. I've no idea how long the tyres have been on the car or how they have been treated before my ownerhip but I was very happy with them and the car :)

Pete, if I ever thought a V6 wouldn't be quick enough (which I didn't) yours and Mr Wedge's proved otherwise on Sunday, bloody quick even next to a modified turbo....and that noise, heavenly!

Pete was behind me on the motorways and when we were pulling away from the roundabouts I was just edging away by inches running stock boost so HM's car must be about 400bhp to be able to do what your saying??
I don't know anything about your car by the way ;-)

And I'm not a racing driver!! Lmfao! I wish I was though hehehe

I've just driven HM's car after he dropped it off here this morning lol

It is very quick to be fair, its def quicker than my standard rev3 turbo... I tried but I couldn't get it to wheel spin in any of the gears (didn't try first, didn't see the point) but it is bone dry here

The coilovers are set way too stiff IMO, it has actually given me a headache driving it  I certainly couldn't drive it like it is for any amount of time and I certainly wouldn't push it too much like it is in the wet/damp weather... I think you need to adjust these dude well before the HD and find a suitable setting :th:

I also dropped the pressure on the near side rear to match the other side as there was 2.5psi difference but I assume thats from after Sundays drive

No doubt about it though, it is a quick car :)
