Well i havnt had my mr2 for long but so far loved every minute of driving it!!
Ive got a few plannes for my 2 so i thought id start a rolling thread to keep a record and mostly to keep you all and new members updated on whats been happening to my 2
Heres how it is now...
So far ive taken the airbox out to find the air intake temp sensor was tucked away under it
But monday il hopefully get the piping to fit an induction filter.
AND to get a new exshast priced up and mine has a nice split in it just after the cat.

Looks good....Just a word of caution though, if the air filter is a cheap one and wedged right into the vent, then be careful about deposits (stones and such) going through the filter into the engine.....
Where it is, I would say the Apex'i (if you can get one) as they have a better filter composition than the HKS (I had a HKS Mushroom on my last N/A and it did sound awesome, I have just heard some real issues with these filters and would not go that way again)
Good work though :th: Good to see another car getting attention down here in Plymouth :th: What exhaust are you going for?

Thanks mate, my filter has a protective casing over it, and were it is i dont think any stones or such can get to it, so i think its pretty safe for now lol
Im not sure what exshast to go for, mines got a nasty split in it next to the cat so it will have to be done soon, good thing is its still quite, you cant really notice its spilt unless you try to hear for it OR have a look lol
Ive seen some nice 2s in plymouth, should have a meet soon while the weather is good lol!
Also looking into samco too, really wanna replace some of the old pipes in the engine bay! And at the same time give the engine a good clean!
Want it to look nice and fresh!

Well its been a lil while, I also cant login under my original username(MaRt2), I managed to source another set of lightcovers and here is the result of getting them!
For some reason i cant post up pics in the normal way through my photobucket but it will let me add links..
When i got them...
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k40/M ... C02707.jpg
And what they look like on and sprayed!
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k40/M ... C02683.jpg
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k40/M ... C02684.jpg
Was a pain getting the old ones off tho, some of the original bold holes were not used and they had studs broken off inside them! GRR! so they (the last owners) just drilled holes and put normal screws in! Only took me 10-15mins to get the old studs out and fit new shiney bolts!
Old studs....well one of them!
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k40/M ... C02687.jpg
And goin to replace the springs too...think this ones had it lol
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k40/M ... C02688.jpg
Oh and a random pic in the sun, before i fitted the newly sprayed covers!

Well ive been busy making a new strutbrace for my 2.
I didnt like the dull colour of the metal so i matched it to the colour of my car lol!
What you thnk??

Also found that the last owner didnt believe in doin thing properly! Found 2 fuses in the engine bay fuse box with copper wire around them! They had blown! easier just to REPLACE them!!! Bloody corner cutters!

Nice car mate, although i'm not sure that 'strut brace' will 'cut the mustard' tbh ? Normally they are of tubular design for strength - that one just looks a bit 'flimsy'
Also - what's an exshast ?

Eh? Why've you got a micro-filter on the system like that?
There's no point, given the pipe is already plumbed into the induction system. However you should have a pipe running into where the microfilter is.... and I can't remember which one!

Not on minemate, it was just blanked off
Thought as i had it spare it wont hurt the induction system to add it on.
