Still got mine but it took forever to login and is now smacking me with advertising and offering a pay option to remove the adverts.

Poor show :(

Glad to see the Know Your 2 articles appear to be using local hosting but there must be a huge amount of posts, not just on this site, which are now going to be so much less informative as a result of them flicking this switch. I mean I know there were issues anyway when people moved or deleted images but this is a whole different scale. The proper thing for them to have done would have been to put these rules in place for all new accounts rather than taking something away from the legacy users. Sounds to me like they are struggling financially and this is what they need to do to try and get some funds in.

Nah, I reckon there's been a change in ownership or management and they decided to squeeze the lemon hard to get what they can out of it.

I can imagine there was quite a bit of commercial hosting of pics on their site, and really if people are using it for money they should pay - but what they have done by ruining countless threads of all types all over the www will see crapbucket become a distant memory.

Which sort of makes me think some other company like google bought it and sent it down the plug hole on purpose.

When I had to reformat/rewrite all the KY2 articles due to a forum software change (over 10 years ago) one of the reasons we decided to host all the images on our server was exactly this kind of thing happening, glad we did :)

Ive been looking into all the different options for a new hosting site but always have the worry that they will go the same way as photobucket.

Ive been thinking a sort of blog or website which has my build thread on it. Ideally free or cheap to host my pics.
Im looking at wix at the moment but not sure what its like.

Google Drive is working for me.

Go to your GMail email account and hit the 9 little squares top right corner of page. Open Drive, upload pic and get the link from there. Copy paste the link into your post and you're good.

15 gig of free storage.

She's a 6 footer Jeff. Just been resprayed and it's an awful job. Touch up paint on both wings! Full of orange peel and contamination and fish eyes. Bloke had it in for 6 weeks too.

He's supposed to be having it back in to fix it all.

Google Drive doesn't work everywhere though as it serves images a little differently. Look at the URL of the image you posted, it does not have a file extension like .jpg. It doesn't work on IMOC for example.

not really fair to cite IMOC as an example, their forum software looks to be over 12 years out of date

if we-re going to start poking fun at forum software ill have to say the software on this forum doesn't work anywhere near as well as you'd like. try viewing it on a ipad in chrome in portrait mode and you'll see what i mean. no other site, IMOC included is a problem.... pot kettle black.
