Rough running and warning lights

Post by salfordimp » 13/01/18 11:51

Hi I have been having a problem on my Rev 4 (1997) MkII since I had a replacement back box and new o2 sensor.

The car is running rough and has the following warning lights on the dash - Battery, low break fluid, low oil warning & engine compartment cooling fan light.

No error codes are indicated.

I have checked voltages (with a new battery) and its within expected ranges.

So confused now as what could be the cause. :confused1: Any advice assistance would be helpful. Also does anyone know of a good mechanic in the Salford area that I could go to.

Thanks in anticpation.

if you have all the lights on, 1st thing to check is alternator output,
with engine running you should see around 14.4 volts
with engine not running (ign off) then around 12.2v

you say checked voltages in expected range, good to have what results you found in thread

usually get lights of death when alt fails / or alt belt breaks.

may nothelp with rough running but need to get that sorted 1st
