Re: Electrical issue after alt belt change: wiring diagram and question about specific circuit

Really glad to hear that you got it all sorted and won't have to pay for the work, I wouldn't be using that garage again.
Time to enjoy the car now. :yahoo:

Re: Electrical issue after alt belt change: wiring diagram and question about specific circuit

Yea it seems that that drawing is correct, i spent a while trawling through it after looking at the loom. Very strange how there is so many differences in the looms and diagrams.

Re: Electrical issue after alt belt change: wiring diagram and question about specific circuit

I have a spare interior wiring loom knocking about at home so will see if i can find and trace that wire back, will be easier with the loom not in the car. I suspect the diagram Jimi has found is probably correct and checking the heater relay might be a good idea. Will let you know what i find about...

Re: Rev3 coloured radiator hose pipes good idea?

I have used the Stoney racing ones on my MK1, they are a bit more expensive than the cheap chinese ones but imagine they will work considerably better.

Re: MK2 internal fan/heater completely dead

sorry to hear about this endless escapade. The rubbing wires causing all those problems is utter BS, if you had rubbed through a radio wire then it would have ONLY blown your Dome fuse, once one fuse is blown then that circuit is isolated and wont keep blowing more fuses. I think Rainen might be ont...

Re: MK2 internal fan/heater completely dead

Happy new year to you too :th: TBH i wouldnt let them have another attempt at fixing it, they clearly dont have a clue and will probably just bodge whatever fault they have caused or was pre-existing just to get it back to you. I dont know any specialists in that area but there are plenty of members...

Re: Rotten inside boot to the back of arches

I was lucky enough that my donor car had replacement panels "welded" on. They were easy enough to remove and I used them on mine, would be very good if someone is making them now.

Re: MK2 internal fan/heater completely dead

Ah if you were closer I would have offered to have a look. The best thing you can do is to find out exactly what they did whilst the car was in there possession even down to jump starting it to get it running or charging the battery. I have shorted the main alternator cable before and it only blew t...
