Knowledge Base - How To:- Check Your Gearbox Fluid

Inspect the gearbox casing and you will notice 2 removable plugs. The lower plug is the drainage point and the one located higher up is the filler hole.

When refilling the fluid, continue to add fluid until the oil leaks out of the filler hole.

You must top up the gearbox if the fluid is more than 5mm below the filler hole. As the filler hole is on the side of the gearbox, you cannot visually observe the fluid level, but a small allen key makes an ideal dipstick, but whatever you do, dont drop in the hole!

Fluid TQ Dexron 3 is normally recommended. We advise you to check with your dealer if your gearbox is fitted with a LSD.
