Well since having sold my MR2 back in Feb in prep to buy anew car things turned to "censored".
First the plan to buy the new STi got killed off by Subaru and then I just couldn't get excited enough about the AMG A45S to buy one then out of the blue Toyota released the GR Corolla.
Initially I was not impressed by the 1.6litre 3 cylinder engine but the whole concept of the car in keeping relative simplicity and retaining a 6 speed manual with the benefit of 4WD makes it ideal for our roads.
Subsequently a few YouTube clips have emerged and this car is a rocket ship on the track and will finally be a decent upgrade over the MR2 turbo worth buying.
Anyone else here looking at making the switch ?
Even the Core version will be a huge improvement with 18inch wheels and a decent set of brakes.

It's not coming to the UK unfortunately otherwise I'd be considering it. Andy

Re: The new GR Corolla Circuit Edition
Bummer.
Global distribution is weird the USA is getting it. Maybe the UK market doesn't have a gap for it with all the Euro cars you can get.
The big question is how many we will get over here and we should find out over the next couple of months.
Will do a review of it on here if I can get my hands on one vs the MR2 Turbo

Re: The new GR Corolla Circuit Edition
Not that strange considering Mr T never offered the MK1 SC or the MK2 Turbo in the UK, but did in the States and other markets

Black is not a colour ! .... Its the absence of colour

Re: The new GR Corolla Circuit Edition
They say they don't want to crowd the market with more than three brothers. We already have the 86, yaris n supra.

Re: The new GR Corolla Circuit Edition
Not sure who makes these decisions to be honest it makes no sense really. We are a tiny market and have all four.
They all appeal to different buyers the 86 and supra are totally different cars and there is no buyer crossover to the Yaris and the Corolla.
The problem in the current environment is availability we will just have to wait until we see what we get allocated.
