Silverstone Track tester II - Convoy 2 (27/10/13)
Looking at the list there at least 6 of us coming from various points south. Who is up for a convoy? If so, we could meet at M40 Oxford Services. If required we could have a second RV point at M40 Cherwell Services
Timing tbc depending on whether or not we need both RV points.

I'd be more inclined to join up at Cherwell as the Oxford services are further out of the way from my direction.

Re: Silverstone Track tester II - Convoy 2 (27/10/13)
Signing on time is 09.30 so we need to be at the circuit in good time prior to that.
I suggest we plan our arrival around the following timings:
Oxford - depart 08.20
1. TLF
2. Woody928
3.
4.
5.
6.
Cherwell - depart 08.50
1. Kyyanno + 1
2.
Anyone else joining us? Copy and paste the list in the usual way.

Sounds gd, I'll leave a bit of extra time as I've got to pick up a +1 in Egham on route. Hopefully be there with at least 10mins to date, as there should be no traffic... I hope. Am I right in saying the postcode for oxford services is OX33 1JN?
Re: Silverstone Track tester II - Convoy 2 (27/10/13)

Yes. Why? You don't need a sat nav to find it mate. Just follow the signs! CLICKY.Woody928 wrote:Am I right in saying the postcode for oxford services is OX33 1JN?
Don't understand your last point. The times are in my previous post.largie009 wrote:IM meeting a couple of people in Didcot so could meet up i suppose! Go round the bottom of oxford and come in from the NW!! will be interested in times though!
It seems pretty clear from the event thread that the couple of people you mention are Kyyanno and Steve in his Porsche. He has already posted that they are going direct to Cherwell so I'm going to assume you will be with them unless you say otherwise.
No word from Daffy...

Still curious to know how you work out timings from a group of letters and numbers.Woody928 wrote:Only so I could work out timings tony... However I probs will still have it on.
I'm a bit of a dinosaur - I use a map (Google works for me). In a previous life I used to be a rally navigator. Plot 'n bash meant you needed to be on the ball at all times. Traga timing meant you were usually doing so at V-Max to try and avoid any penalties. Those days (well nights actually) are the stuff of history. The regulation changes in 1988 saw to that.

"yes, sorry, am meeting them at Didcot at 8:15 ish!
we will go from there!:P
look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow!;)"

haha well if you can give me a proper paper map that calculates a time form point A to B quicker than google then I'm sold!TonyleFrog wrote:Still curious to know how you work out timings from a group of letters and numbers.Woody928 wrote:Only so I could work out timings tony... Re: Silverstone Track tester II - Convoy 2 (27/10/13)
Several. I was the navigator for a number of drivers over the years.
Mini Cooper S
Lotus Cortina
Lancia Fulvia HF
Ford Escort RS
I then moved over to the right hand seat. I started out driving a 998cc Hillman Imp but moved up to a Mk1 Escort Mexico which underwent gradual development and ended up with a c200bhp BDA engine. You don't ever forget the induction roar of twin side draught Webers. The most fun to drive car I have ever owned. Some of my friends claimed it was never seen going in a straight line! I now wish I had kept it.
Still kept my hand in navigating on a few events
Vauxhall Chevette HS
Talbot Sunbeam Lotus
Opel Ascona

See you chaps at Cherwell, I presume you'll be in the main services car park, not the fuel station area, so we'll do a slow loop through there - I'm hoping we can do Didcot-Cherwell in 35 minutes, but if it comes to past 08:50, carry on ahead and we'll just head on straight through to Silverstone and try to catch you up
