Yep. I remember it being pitched on Dragons' Den.
Peter Jones wasn't keen on the idea.
He didn't think there would be sufficient take up.
Perhaps the club budget would extend to a small utility tent*?

My Audi A3 didn't survive the car either!! :laughing

Jay - We're not going to have time to scope anywhere else suitable before the 15th so I think we should make Barrow Wake our final meeting point :th:

Just to throw an idea into the mix, what about a football club? Cheltenham town has a suitable car park.... Might be worth a call? We had a meet at Derby's Pride Park that was free entry, given, it was a bit bigger!

Cheltenham Town FC - http://goo.gl/IfFs1m
Gloucester RFC - http://goo.gl/VZ2Dqy

Barrow Wake seems to be the front runner atm though.
The upside is it's very easy to get to. No streets to negotiate.

There is one other place we can think of - Swindon F1 Karting in Wroughton. They've had car events up there in the past. The karting track is in an old air hanger and I believe there's a big area out the back of it which we could use, if we asked nicely.

They have a small cafe, toilets & cool kart track.

This sounds good.

Indeed, but it's also south of the M4 - http://goo.gl/pj38hC - so well beyond the boundary of the Cotswolds by any definition I can think of.

For organisational purposes the South East group has had to plan on the basis that we will have a full house which would mean 27 bums on seats for lunch. That's not a 'turn up and hope' exercise, especially on a Sunday, so we have our watering hole/route/timings already sorted.

It just needs the final piece of the jigsaw to be rolled out, so can the Regional Reps please put their collective heads together and make an executive decision, otherwise we will be batting venues back and forth for the next 3 weeks!

When doing this, please also bear in mind that wherever any of the groups have lunch they have to factor in time and distance afterwards to reach the RV point. The shorter the better.

I think we should stick with Barrow Wake. I thought it had already been agreed.

We are only planning on meeting up for about an hour as part of the day's drive. Nice spot for photos/chat. Not likely to be any of the nocturnal activities at the time we are planning on arriving (2pm).

We will start to over complicate this by making the final meet destination activity based. It will also make the route planning extremely difficult, as Tony says, if we keep changing our minds.

I'll just follow the car in front from the West Midlands, or my dominatrix of a sat nav (I swear she must know about the nocturnal activities at Barrow Wake, she seems to know everything else!) :zip

It was just a thought, but yes it's not in the Cotswolds!

Barrow Wake it is.

Yeah, I didn't realise that wasn't in the Cotswolds. Happy with Barrow Wake. :)

Thanks Craig. :) No changes required for the SE group: we're ready to rock 'n roll! :th:

Don't forget to make regular sacrifices to the weather gods over the next 3 weeks folks.

We don't want any rain...

More like (the clever, smarmy cow)...

Her: "Please enter your destination"

Me: "Cotswold dogging site please"

Her: "Barrow Wake is 1 hour 40 minutes away and there are 2 minor traffic incidents and speed camera restrictions to that destination. Would you like me to divert you?"

Me: FFS, can't you just ask me for a postcode?

We then have an argument, and she normally wins lol
