Edit: Checking last year's JapFest threads, we actually aimed to leave Newbury at 6am; in reality it was nearly 7am by the time we left and we didn't have any big issues getting through the gates

Not sure what you base that assessment of numbers on but no matter.
I'm only sharing my opinion; if I'm not in the majority then that's fine. I just remember getting to Newbury very early and then hanging around there a looooong time and still not having issues getting into the circuit.
