It was insurance renewal time on the MR2 recently so I rang my insurer...eSure, to query why they'd quoted a 30% increase in this year's premium. I'd already done my homework & had been already quoted a premium that was actually cheaper than last year with eSure. I'd told them previously my mileage had drastically reduced to around 500 miles per year as I had access to another vehicle in the family.
Imagine my surprise when I was told by the young lady that because I was only doing 500 miles per year I was considered not used to driving so I would be more of an insurance risk !
I'll add I've been driving for 40 years & had no accidents or convictions in the last 15 years.
Gobsmacked to say the least
Just for the record I'm now insured with Lancaster Insurance with a premium of £188
