Re: 10th Anniversary MR2 Register - CHAT - add your car here
#122 already on the register but thought I'd verify etc that I still own it and it's still around.
Can't believe it got added to the list from a post on exophase though, it's been posted on here by me before lol
Location is Frimley Surrey
It's sort of unmolested, changes:
Exhaust - not reversible without spending money
Steering wheel - I have the original
Headunit - I have the original
Front speakers - The originals were knackered so I got some no-frills replacements. It looks no different but it's not strictly OEM
Tinted reverse lights - just vinyl so easily removed
4 brake lights mod - got a spare loom and butchered that so the original can be swapped in minutes.
The exhaust only came about because Mr T wanted £1500 for a catback and there are no pattern parts available, original had rotted in a place not easily weldable (or so my garage said). So I got a mongoose exhaust for £300, I really wanted to stay OEM but I couldn't stretch to 5x the price.
Was there an option when new to buy a plate to match the limited edition number or is N122 on #122 a private plate (likewise P128 on #128)?

Nice find.jimi wrote:This one may well meet with your approval Tony CLICKY the only thing I can't see is the stereo.
I will bet there aren't many which have the original numbered key fob/badge.

Why the secret squirrel coyness? Disguised VRM (why not just remove the plates ffs?). Horn push removed, ashtray flipped up, boot lid lifted to obscure the view of the engine cover...
No visible body damage, so presumably either a blown engine or MOT fail due to rust. It looks unmolested (apart from the usual change of stereo). A shame to see its demise if it is the real deal.
Clicky takes you to the register thread. However it is deliberately locked to prevent anyone other than a mod/admin making changes/additions (see jimi's earlier post).blackcab wrote:pressing clicky did not respond.

@jimi.
The *** for number 021 are 837 - as posted earlier by its owner
Number 241 location as above.
So that's 3 in Scotland (021/236/241) all within a few miles of each other!

Re: 10th Anniversary MR2 Register - CHAT - add your car here
I deliberately left out the numbers, debating whether is it wise to post the full reg number. Some people may be unhappy/unwilling to do that. I don't mind either way, quite willing to go with the majorityTonyleFrog wrote:jimi wrote:

A bit late for that in this case given that the owner has disclosed it himself and there was already another thread on this forum with a pic of it on the street...jimi wrote:I deliberately left out the numbers, debating whether is it wise to post the full reg number. I understand that some people may have reservations (which should be respected of course), but personally I have never understood the logic behind it. A VRM is not a secret. Every time you take to the road it is visible for the whole world to see. Anyone with real evil intent simply has to follow you. Sooner or later they will find out where it normally resides.

I'm with you on that and as you say it's probably too late to change the way we are doing it.TonyleFrog wrote:

As usual trying to cover all the bases and 2nd guess yourself never quite works

Interesting. Silver is what I was expecting (although this chart suggests a commencement date of 2001 - http://www.uniquecarsandparts.com.au/co ... ta_H-Z.htm) Anyone else confirm code 199? Foxystuff I'm looking in your direction!Howlin_Mad wrote:199 Silver metallic according to the above vin.TonyleFrog wrote:Nice find.

The reason I asked the question is that the DVLA records appear to state that ALL these SILVER cars are GREY! I would be interested to know where they get that one from. What do owners' V5C registration documents say the colour is?
