(not to mention a considerable amount of peer pressure by Dan, Andy, and especially Dave (oddshoes) during that time.
And I have to say I was massively disappointed
Not to have been before.

A few highlights
IKO
Favourite event - Dragon boats: really close contests and pipped at the post.
Getting absolutely soaking wet in my first event (go carts) as the rain hammered down and attempting to do up a certain lady's zip. My excuse it that the vast majority of my previous experience has been in the opposite direction...
Wobbling like an out-of-control marionette in the joust (at least it entertained the crowd). I take some comfort that the guy who knocked me out (almost literally) was the eventual winner.
Dan's demented laugh every time the relay race was mentioned prior to the start (yes I was in that too).
Other stuff
A certain lady (yes, her again) who shall remain nameless pestering me to show her my pics and pleading with me for most of the evening not to publish any photos of her in the lightweight TOW. Being the evil person I am (hehehe) I kept her in suspense knowing I didn't have one.
Tallboy's eyes slowly glazing over due to a surfeit of beer on Saturday evening while his head slowly swung left and right, interspersed with the occasional nod, while trying to follow what those sitting either side of him were saying. It was like watching one of those a slow-mo action replays of the crowd at Wimbledon.
Dawsey's epic exhaust drowning out the Honda boys and the flames nearly barbecueing PeteV6R5!
Great craic and superb company. Thanks to everyone, old hands and new, for a thoroughly enjoyable weekend - despite the dodgy weather!
Now - back to culling/sorting those pics...
