Luckily for my wallet I got away with seal and piston kits for the rear calipers, and even more lucky that the handbrake cables are fine as they are a pig of a job to replace :)

My shake down didn't go too well yesterday  my new HKS bov blew off the car so had to limp back with no boost... Lost the rubber but used the one off my old bov (luckily it's the same make) and it's now back on the car and I'll be out testing again this morning :th:

On top of that, Stace aint well but she's off work now so taking it easy

Blue car and new wife are on standby :laughing

Steve-M-UK wrote:What a day, myself and Nic set about sorting my car this morning, new plugs went in, tie rods looked uprated so left alone, then we went to swap the exhaust manifold as it had a crack. Bit of a struggle but we got it off, replaced the gasket and bolted the new one in place. It was very awkward as there is no space and in the struggle we managed to trap a wire under the manifold! We only realised when i pressed the starter button and the loom began smoking. At this point i let go of the starter and we freed the wire, but when we tried to restart there was nothing. I though that was the end of my Highland drive as we tried everything to get it to run. After a couple of hours of phonecalls to other vx'ers and searching the web, Nic found a post where somebody did the same and it turns out there is a hidden 50amp fuse in the front, fingers crossed we found it and it was blown! So we repaired it with fuse wire for now and i'm borrowing one from my mates race car tommorow , phew it runs again, panic over, i need a drink.
Glad I could help yesterday Steve and the weather was decent.
I didn't realise how shattered I was until I went to bed and kept waking up due to aches and pains. Then I've slept late like the dead, but have a sense of achievement for yesterday and we both learned more about our cars. My hands are cut and grazed to shreds, never really experienced that on the 2's :laughing

Kent Run shakedown for T2 today. :) Ça va bien. :th:
Just need to check all fluids and wash off the dead insects.
Then it's the long haul up country on Wednesday.
