chris wrote:If I had to miss all the other shows due to going to JAE I wouldn't care... honestly it's the best show of the year bar none...

I would recommend it to anyone to try it at least once, we finally managed to convince TLF to come after years of badgering him about it last year... and for someone who doesn't do 'static meets' he was one of the first to put his name down for this year...

As Vinny has stated, it's actually not about the cars but more about the social aspect of the show and also the club... it's a great way to get to meet those who you converse with on a regular basis on here and to have a beer/wine/cider/whiskey/coke and a chat with...

You can get involved with the IKO, or just watch and support...

Oh, and everyone's welcome, no matter where you're from, how old you are, what type of car you have and whether it's a show standard, or a 'worn round the edges' daily driver...

I would recommend it to anyone to try at least once... and once you try, it'll be in your calendar every year after that, I can guarantee it :th:
This!

Although it is a more social weekend, it's still Europe's largest Jap car show and if you want to look at some interesting metal there is more than enough to keep you interested for a couple of days!

But the facilities are great at Wicksteed (unlike other err strips in the same county) to make camping almost pleasurable!

The banter and the open arms and welcomes most of the clubs display is second to none at any other show. The banter in the IKO is great too, and although we put competitive hats on we still have a laugh with competitors and other club stalwarts.

I went in 2007 with a couple of people from the West Midlands meets I'd met a few times before and was a little unsure of what to expect, who I would meet, if I was going to be camping as billy no mates, who was who etc....

Now, it's the first holiday of the year booked :yahoo:

I and others have all met lifelong friends at JAE, been to their weddings, seen the proposals, ate the hot food, got the T-Shirts, watched Lee flame the hairs off a few peoples legs standing too close to his exhaust, and enjoyed the banter in the marquee until the early morning over a tea or several bottles of Jager. Oh and experienced Dave's (oddshoes) dancing!

Whatever floats your boat, if you have to do a car show, JAE is the one ;)

PS.

On the boat subject, can someone smuggle in an outboard motor for you know what... :laughing

Quick question, what normally happens on the Sunday? Does it wrap up early or does it last through the day?
