JAE - 2015

Post by Smitty1977 » 09/11/14 21:53

Well folks it look like JAE is moving, destination yet unknown,

posted on Facebook
It would be true to say everyone so far has been very patient with regards JAE 2015 and confirmation of dates. Since JAE 2014 ended we've been analysing the situation at Wicksteed Park. For next year they plan more planting - we still haven't got a map for this year's plants! They also plan more work and will have access to a lot of the firelds we rely on. Sadly, while we have been working hard to make JAE happen at Wicksteed Park they seem a little less flexible.

In parallel with all that we have been meeting other venues and exploring other options. We've dismissed some venues and are now in discussions with three potential venues, all of whom want long term arrangements with us and which we think would be great for JAE.

Events from time to time have to move. Just the parking space for cars now would more than fill Billing. Peterborough still has a huge grandstand in the middle and has major noise issues with nieghbours. As for Mersea that's way too small and way to far out of the way (unless you live in Essex)

More details coming soon and confirmation of venue and dates but for now please bear with us while we work on this
Lets hope it is as good as Wicksteed or even Mersea, we can always hope :th:

I saw this, Im sure they will pick a good venue. This year was great, and honestly, it was the people that made it, not the venue ;) Cant wait for it, wherever it may be held!

Agreed Jordan.... Although I can't deny having it right on my doorstep appealed ;) If it had been elsewhere this year, I wouldn't have made it with what I had on. Neither would we have got Erin and Katie over either...

Still, if Wicksteed are looking to use their land how they want, one car show isn't going to stop that. Be intrigued where they can find that's big enough mind ;)

Be watching this :th:

Santa Pod would be great, but not facility wise! They are seriously lacking in amenities! Something needs addressing there. Wicky park has been the best JAE facility wise so far that I have been to, hope the new one is central and as well equipped for our needs.

I have to agree with Kiz, it's worth travelling to somewhere such as Wicky Park as there are plenty of shower and toilet facilities, shops and supermarkets close by water supplies and parking.

They'll be hard pushed to find somewhere equally well equipped and 'reasonably central' for all the clubs.

It was always good at billing but it's too large an event now. Peterborough was ok but only if it was dry, turned into a mud pit when it rained

I was the in May... it's certainly better setup than Wickstead park and further from a large residential areas so noise shouldn't be such as issue.

I've been to a few shows at Stoneleigh (mainly classics and kit cars), it's a decent venue!
