Mine gets the hump unless I feed it a diet of 98/99RON. :D Excellium is only 97.
Sorry i mean momentum from Tesco. 99 last time i checked but it gets Vpower nitro mostly just because i live closer to a Shell garage.

BlackBeautyMR2- Michael will be joining us for Thurs & Frid, he has not been to any drives before but has had his MK2 for 5 years and is keen to fully participate in the MR2 scene.

Tony, there is a Shell station on the A69 a couple of miles from Brampton if you can squeeze that far. Then on the M6/A74 just north of the A69.

Tbh after last year's mad catch up that never happened it's probably best just to see you guys in DB, though the old A74 has an appeal to overcome boredom ;)

315 miles from home. That should present no problem for T2. :)

Can't speak for the other 3 though so will defer that decision until 19th.
In any event I'll need to brim the tank again for the run to Uig.
Either at Erskine (current plan) or Helensburgh after arrival at Dumbarton.

That must be Todhills. Filled up there some years ago: pump price was a rip off!

Our ETA at Gretna will probably be mid afternoon, say 3.30 ish.
Why not wait until the 19th and see how it pans out?
The issue last year was that we couldn't make contact with either of you!
I don't seem to have your mobile number any more: can you PM it to me please.

On another note, I have just looked at the weather forecast for 20th onwards and wished I hadn't!
Looks like being much worse than last year. Rain, and more rain, everywhere each day.
Even Durness which has mostly been OK appears unlikely to offer any respite. :crybaby:

Petrol station is at Low Row A69, reasonable price but watch for the speed cameras.

Will pm my mobile, and we will have a better idea of timings on the day.

I suppose i better take my brolly or a car with a roof.

Tony, your times are running a little later than I would have preferred, especially if the weather is poor. Will wait to see closer to the Wednesday but if ok and you stop for fuel at Leeming Bar I could meet you there. Can grab a cup of coffee whilst waiting :)
Will let you know

Cheers, Peter. Thanks for the intro.

Looking forward to meeting everyone and having a blast around the Highlands.

Here's a pic of BlackBeauty ready for her adventures... Had her 7 years now, but she's still going strong even though she needs a little TLC on the sills and body...

Hi and welcome along. Look forward to meeting you. Do you need help with accommodation or are you sorted?

Hi Ann, :)

thanks for the welcome. Looking forward to spending a good couple of days meeting some fellow MR2 enthusiasts - I don't know why I didn't do this sooner!

I'm good for accomodation thanks. I spoke to Peter last night and will be having dinner at the hotel on the first night with you all but am going to take care of everything else.

That seems to pan out well with my journey times, I reckon I'll be passing Gretna around 3.30 too...

I'm discussing possible changes which would result in that RV taking place earlier.
Don't really fancy getting involved with rush hour traffic around Glasgow...

That's great Michael. Did Peter warn you that we're a mad bunch :laughing

Hopefully you'll have a brilliant time :th:

Oh, get yourself a walkie talkie. They are pretty much essential from a safety point of view and it'll keep you in the loop if we have to make a change of plan.

No panic Tony, Steve and i are just cruising up the motorway to Dunbarton, no rush and no risk to licenses. We will be passing Gretna around 13:30. No point in changing your schedule, you guys are already starting early enough and we have the whole weekend to get on each others' nerves ;)
