Cam Belt
I am afraid I am going to show my ignorance
Mk2 Rev 3 non turbo.
Done 80k miles, belt last changed about 5 years ago at 60k miles.Historically gentle use and garaged
As I now use the car on track I am conscious of the belt life.
60k miles or 5 years I think? Is it a non interference engine? Change later this year?
Advice appreciated.

Re: Cam Belt
non interference so if it breaks should be no damage.

Re: Cam Belt
All the ones I’ve had apart at even triple the time interval have had no indication of deterioration. Mileage on the belt seems to be the greatest cause of failure. I wouldn’t worry about the belt for your situation. Concentrate on getting ignition, tyres & brakes up to scratch for your track days.

Yes mine was last changed in 2009 and with a genuine belt they really last. Each time its been pulled the belt looked like new.
