Rear inner tie rod end bushing

Post by abovetherim » 24/05/19 15:12

Ok can anyone with some experience of these give me an idea of if I'm correct.

I have felt a bit of vagueness in the rear end. The car is fully polybushed. Every bolt is tight Inc subframe.

Looking at the tie rod bushes in the hubs they might be suspect so I got replacements (Tcb kit).
Now the old ones don't have any lateral play in them but can be wiggled easily where as the new ones can't be wiggled with my fingers.

The same goes for the inner end. No play but can wiggle with fingers.

So my question is should I replace the inner arms or is acceptable to be able to rotate the arm easily on the bush??

Ta jan

It's a spherical bearing, so you should be able to rotate it. There should not be any in/out play though.

Was made to replace both of my lower wishbone ball joints on mine when it failed a WOF.

Still was not having any handling problems with the old ones. Put the old ones in the vice and could't find any play in them.Had more movement in them in my model car.

Not done any other rear suspension work on the car.
