Main Beam warning light not working
MK2 rev.5 (uk spec).
Main beam indicator lamp not lighting up on instrument panel when main beam is switched on.
All headlights work correctly.
All other warning lights on dashboard work.
I've removed instrument panel and proved that the main beam indicator bulb works.
Found Shinny's very useful website with Toyota manuals - so have the wiring diagrams.
Read previous post that explains how main beam indicator gets it's feed through dipped beam filaments. (Don't really understand why this works)
I've checked continuity through the low beam/high beam/flasher switch, and that seems ok.
Temporarily disconnected the wire that feeds low beam terminal on dip-switch.
Main beam warning light lit up with headlights on and dipped beam selected (dipped headlights obviously didn't light up).
Then selected main beam - main beam headlights light up, but main beam indicator went off! (Don't understand why it would do that).
Thinking of checking connections in headlight housings for corrosion next.
Any advice would be much appreciated?
Cheers
Andy

Re: Main Beam warning light not working
Fault traced to replacement lamp holder in off-side headlamp that had been connected incorrectly - but in such a way that all lights appeared to work correctly.
