Rev3 - Stereo Turning itself on and draining batt

Post by Scott0713 »

Hello gurus!

So my Rev3 has started misbehaving in regard to the stereo. The buttons do whatever they please so I generally leave it off and drive to the tune of the engine.
However, recently the stereo and aerial have started turning on at random points, overnight when car off and locked.
I promptly removed the 15A fuse from the kick panel until such time as I can take the dashboard off and remove the stereo and check the connections.
Althrough I have removed the fuse, the stereo is still turning on and the aerial is still activating. :w_tf:

I can only assume there is a crossed wire somewhere, but not sure if anyone else has come across this issue or if my baby is just haunted?

Looking for advice on what to do next?

Thanks,
Scott

There's 2 supplies to the stereo, 1 ignition switch controlled (thats the main power) and 1 permenant unswitched (backup up supply to ensure retention of settings and radio stations) IIRC the backup supply is from the Dome fuse, which also supplies other things, check the diagrams for details
Sounds like the 2 supplies may be mixed up, or the the wiring is in some way incorrect.
Black is not a colour ! .... Its the absence of colour
