CHASSIS NUMBER HELP
Hi,
I seem to be getting myself massively confused with Rev`s, chassis numbers and USA, JDM identifications.
My car is an American import and a 1992. Originally a non turbo but now has a turbo motor from Japan fitted to it.
The chassis number is SW21-001-5559. This seems to contradict the length that the number should be.
Can anyone shed any light on this please as to what Rev it is?

Rev5 Sonic Shadow
Re: CHASSIS NUMBER HELP
WOW!! I`m impressed!.
Ok I`m going to go on the assumption that its a rev 1. This dilemma only came to light when I tried to buy a set of bushes for it. So there must be a lot of differences for chassis stuff between them?

Re: CHASSIS NUMBER HELP

Or if it doesn't is there any 100% sure way of telling

Re: CHASSIS NUMBER HELP
Your car was built 09/1991 which would make it a Revision 1 according to those dates.Know Your 2 wrote:Revision 1 (12/1989 to 11/1991)
If you know the correct name for one of the bushes your looking for you can use your chassis number to check the EPC for the Toyota part number, with that you should be able to find the equivalent Powerflex part number

Re: CHASSIS NUMBER HELP
Have a look under the car, you'll have a suspension arm going towards the front of the car, check how it's secured to the chassis..... Rev 1 is very different, it will essentially be a threaded bar going straight through the bush held on by a 22mm (I think, it's about that size) nut. Rev 2 won't have a threaded bar and will have a more standard looking bush setup.
Check diagrams:
https://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_U_1991_ ... _4803.html for Rev 1
https://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_J_1995_ ... 803.2.html for rev 2 onwards
There is no "it cant be done" only "I cant do it!"
