Sterling immobiliser/alarm
Hi,
When the car is parked in the garage, the battery goes flat after about 5 days. So I need to find what is draining the battery. My first thought is the immobiliser/alarm. It's an old Sterling Moon 433. Couple of questions:
1) where would I find the unit itself
2) How easy is it to remove it from the ignition system? (I know sod all about immobilisers
Thanks!
TimN

Re: Sterling immobiliser/alarm
First question should be what age/condition is your battery ? secondly when this happened for the first time how did you recharge the battery ?

Re: Sterling immobiliser/alarm
What state are the battery terminals and connectors in?
I had a similar problem which I also thought was to do with the alarm but turned out when I swapped out a knackered, old and slightly bent terminal clamp for a new one the problem stopped. Also just a good clean may help.
This is the exact one I ordered, cheap as chips and identical to an original

Sometimes it really is that simple.
Also perhaps go out for a drive every few days just to keep some charge in the battery, if it keeps going flat you'll kill it completely.

There is no "it cant be done" only "I cant do it!"
