What are folks doing for tyres? Those of you still running 225/50/15's on the rear - there doesn't seem to be any new stock coming through at the usual suspects (Black circles / Camskill / National tyres et al)? There are a few listings on eBay but am always wary of anything part worn. Plus obviously wanting to avoid anything no-branded or Ditchmeister turbos!
Just curious as to what people's thoughts are as Rachel's car needs a pair of rears (sidewalls starting to crack).

It's not a party till I get my bum out
the name doesn't inspire confidence does it ? They are good to deal with, I got 4 x Goodyear Vector 4Seasons G2 215/55 R17 for the daily back in January, decent price (much better than MyTyres/Black Circles etc) and very prompt delivery.
Black is not a colour ! .... Its the absence of colour
I saw an old Porsche at a track once using the same sizes as the MR2 front and back.
I have been running Toyo R888's for over 10 years now on the road, simply an awesome tyre.
Run 36-38psi on the rears, no issues in the wet. This tyre may have issues in flooding or large amounts of standing water but I have managed to aquaplane on standard road tyres so there are road conditions that no tyre will cope with.
Ideal for a car thats not a daily driver. If yours are starting to crack on the sidewalls before they have worn out then they must be really, really old. The R888 compound is softer and remains grippier for much longer than your standard road tyre.
Hi,
I also need some new 15" tyres for MR2 n/aspirated road car. I Previously fitted pair of new Toyo T1R to the rear, and they were really twitchy to drive on for a while, but after about 1500 miles settled in and were really good. Can anyone tell me how the currently available (front + rear??) Toyo TR1 compares to the T1R on the Mk2. I fitted a budget brand on the front, which avoided the unpredictable handling but they do not give the precise steering feel I would like. PS. All steering joints, dampers are fine, and 4 wheel aligned, etc, so it's not the car at fault!
Such a lovely all round car to drive - still happy with it after 6yrs ownership - a truly underrated classic I think.
Thanks
Nigel
