Can you support SW20 on frame rails?

Post by Padraig 04 »

The sills on my MR2 r completely fecked so I was wondering can you put the jack stands on the frame rails instead of the sills? I haven’t been able to really find the right answer, From what I’ve read you can’t lift the car from the frame rails. Couldn’t find anything bout putting jack stands on them though.
It’s a rev 3 T-Bar if it makes a difference

Cheers,
Padraig

You can use the rear central jacking point with a trolley jack and then just stabilise with a couple of axle stands either side. If you go to page 3 of my project thread (Link in signature) there is a picture of my old car when I did the same.
