Precat removal-engine light

Post by RafsMR2 »

Hi guys, I spoke to a local garage about removing the precats, they said if I did that there is a chance that the engine management light may come on, has anyone experienced this happening or is the mechanic wrong.

Morning folks,

Just researching whilst I'm in the middle of removing the pre-cats and was considering removing the main cat while I'm this far in.

Can anyone confirm if removing it will bring on an EML?

Thanks in advance for any guidance!

Won’t bring an EML but you may find that you lose a bit of mid range torque

Thanks for the quick response Vin, much appreciated.

Might just leave it the heck alone then, would prefer torque rather than the smidgen of horse I might get!
