Face lift wheels on a pre facelift car???
Hi,
I have a 2000 Mr2, when i bought the car it had a set of 15 inch after market alloys on it, with 195/50 tyres on all 4 corners.. Not ideal i know.
I cant get wider tyres on the back alloys due to the alloy width.
I have been donated a set or original wheels in good condition from a 2004 car so its the 15 inch front and 16 inch at the back. will these work well on my car or cause me handling issues?
Also what tyres should i get for them?
Many thanks

Hi fella,
They won't cause any handling issues, AFAIK it was a cosmetic change.
For tyre sizes, see here.

Buy decent tyres! Cheapo brands are known as ditchfinders for a reason.

Definitely get the right tyres on the car!
Only car I have ever spun in 40 years of driving was our Y reg Mk3 when my hubby (mechanic too!) hadn't properly checked the tyres/wheels/stagger etc after we got it (possibly rusty cross member could also have added to the spin too!)

recommend Yokohama ADO8. They transformed the handling on my car but not so good on very cold wet days)
