Difficulty finding replacement bushings

Post by Arcizo »

Hi everyone. My MR-2 has been undergoing some major repairs and the one thing I'm struggling to find is a replacement for one of the knuckle bushings. Any tips?

Your link or picture isn't visible, need more info to correctly identify what your looking for. Model? front or rear ?
Try searching here to narrow down what your looking for http://www.japan-parts.eu/toyota/eu# use the tabs to select the correct year, model and frame code

My bad! Link should work fine now. The issue I'm having is that Toyota doesn't consider the bushing a separate part. It is considered a part of the rear axle sub-assy.

Edit:
Am I correct assuming this is the bearing I am after? https://www.mr2-ben.co.uk/products/756

I believe they are for a Yaris, if you use them, then you need to drill out the chassis holes 14mm, no going back to the proper parts. What about this https://gt4-play.co.uk/shop/front-wishbones This thread might be of use https://www.mr2roc.org/forum/index.php?topic=71232.0

Always a good idea to give TCB a ring to discuss what you are after, have a look at this page (note delivery extra).

:th: definitely, they do a good line in refurbished parts, I got a rear tie bars from them fo my car and they were (are, still on my car) great, and at a reasonable price

Thanks for the help guys. Unless I'm misunderstanding something, the front wishbones wouldn't be much help since its the rear I'm having issues with. On the other hand, gt4-play is not a store I found before and they seem to sell the bushings I need so that's a win. It looks like it might be the yaris bushings with a spacer insert to make them fit.

You never answered so hardly surprising I linked to the wrong part. Your picture doesn't exactly give a lot of clues to whether it's front or rear, does it ?

Its worth giving TCB a ring, they are usually cheaper than GT4-play

Its very easy to add pictures to your posts, rather having links to cloud storage ;)
