spare half-a-wheel stuck !

Post by roj48 »

W reg MR2 - Recently had a puncture and the spare won't come out!! Hell of a job getting the locking nut to move at all and now it just revolves without releasing the wheel. Any advice welcome :confused1:

\i have to admit i dont use the retention Long Bolt & bracket

It sounds like the knob is turning on the threaded bar or nut, cant remember if the long threaded bar, goes into a welded in nut or the bracket it goes into is just threaded.
I have to say never heard of this.

only thing i could suggest is cutting the handle/knob off the threaded bar??

As your turning it is the bar/bolt moving around?

That worked fine - small addendum - once you have chipped away enough of the plastic bolt head to get a purchase - a wrecking bar fetches it off a treat!
