Red Leather touch up paint / RAL Code

Post by Pie Poker »

Does anyone know the name of red leather shade in the Mk3? My driver's side seat is pretty poor, cracked and worn through to the base of the material.

I'd like to paint or touch them up but want to make sure I buy the correct shade of red? Anyone know which one it is, or can point me in the direction of the right paint?

Cheers

There are several shades of red used unfortunately because they were apparently made by several different manufacturers. I think some of the dye/paint repair companies ask owners to send them a little sample from underneath the seat. In any event, you will probably have to do the whole seat :(

This company and their products are very good, https://www.liquidleather.co.uk/
they will match a sample exactly. I used them a couple of years ago when I refurbished a leather suite. IIRC there's before afte pics on a forum thread , I'll try and find it.
Black is not a colour ! .... Its the absence of colour
