Stock stereo issues

Post by Scott0713 »

Hello all

I've got a rev2, all stock mr2.

Over winter the battery has not been holding its charge and the stereo has started to become unresponsive to all buttons, but will change volume.

Not sure if this is related to the battery or just coincidence.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Scott

I would guess coincidence.
A lot of stereos will have ribbon type wires to connect the control panel to circuit board in the unit. I might suggest open it up (unplugged of course) and have a look see. Or it may have solid legs with a communal live or neg in the circuit to the controls that has a poor solder joint.
1991 rev 1 T Bar n/a 3sge import. A work in progress!!!
