Re: Completely new install advice - some ideas please
Ah yes, I'd need the regular signal and sub signal to the amp into input A and B .... I get it now. I'll buy a pair of high quality ones I think so it all matches.
OK, so find a 4g wiring kit for the power as well.... Think I'm getting there now

Wish the fastplug was available in 4AWG. So convenient.

Sure. Looking around it seems it's been discontinued though....notroubleclubber wrote:I'd like to see the android hu and the rwyb day if that's OK.

Re: Completely new install advice - some ideas please
All looks pretty good to me. As Clive said, 4AWG power wiring will be a sensible change, that amp running at full power can draw up to 33 amps, which puts you over the limit for 8AWG. In practice, you'll probably never see that kind of current draw so 8AWG would be OK, but it's sensible to make sure you're within limits for all possible scenarios.MR2Jay wrote:

For the deadening, get a volume pack: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Silent-Coat-4 ... 3641.l6368 That will be plenty enough for your needs.
Why two sub boxes?

Re: Completely new install advice - some ideas please
The idea of the 2 boxes is so that I can use one for the sub one side and modify the other to house the amp on the other side, keeping it matching (of sorts)
OK, I'll definitely upgrade to the 4awg kit then... Do it right, do it once and all that

Oh, and regarding components......
I'll let you know
They certainly look and feel like a high quality product. Need to get hold of some new tweeter covers before I can install the tweeters though.

Re: Completely new install advice - some ideas please
It's all good, I've been looking for a new set for a while. Mine are completely mismatched, and I've never really liked the tweeters all that much. Going to stick them in first thing Saturday morning if its dry, and if I get a chance to make some new adapters this evening.

Re: Completely new install advice - some ideas please
Those Hertz components are very nice indeed! Need to make a different set of adapters, I made mine too bit to fit in the doorcard without modification. I modded the drivers side door card as it's not in great condition anyway, and used my existing passenger side one, which is functional but full of holes after 3 sets of speakers in two different cars
Much nicer tweeters than my old Rainbow tweeters ever were.

Good to know
Got the best part of a grand to spend on wheels, tyres and geo setup first though so tunes are going to have to take a back seat for the minute

Will it be sitting pretty on the Blitz wheels for Japfest2? Red / gold is a great combo, should look lovely!
