Wondered where you were going:).

Oh well, you got to explore some nice North Essex back roads plus a trip through the village I grew up in.

Hope Kent guys didn't get stuck in the tailback on the A12, we diverted and took a nice scenic route home!

Lol did you not notice you were headed in the opposite direction?

I had to flashed Ross the right way instead of him heading/following into colchester. If I'd have known you didn't live in that direction I would have also tried to alert you.

I just thought you lived that way.

May 10th 2015: Annual Run to Norfolk

Post by Stripey »

Really love it when a plan comes together, and I think today it did.
Pat on the back for Stu, dad (Mark) for the route (with a few of my old frequent favourite routes through North Essex thrown in) and myself as despite struggling to find pubs big enough to accommodate us I think the breakfast and lunch points worked well and I got bacon at both places so all's good in my books lol.

I also have to give a big pat on the back to Dom, as I believe he led the majority of the run and managed to keep track of everybody. Although the noisy exhaust meant we could all just follow the noise, even if he was out of sight lol.

Big thanks to everybody who attended, was lovely to meet familiar and new faces. I hope to see you all at the next one.

Oh and keep an eye out for our faces/cars on crimewatch. When a video shows a load of stationary cars behind a car parked illegally blocking the road -_-

Good run guys. Some good roads, private parking :th: (we need this more often) and the weather was great. Big thanks to all the organizers! Good to see some new faces, and cars, + catch up with the regulars. See some of you Thursday!

No worries mate. Wondered what happened to you. There one minute and gone the next.

Nasty crash - http://www.essexchronicle.co.uk/lorry-d ... story.html

Couldn't see the the end of the queue until it was too late to take the Maldon exit. The diversion must have disoriented a lot of people as lane 1 was at a complete standstill. Lane 2 was still moving, albeit at a crawl, but once past the pinch point the outer lane of the slip road to the A130 was empty!

No mean feat keeping that many cars together all the way to the coast. Well done to all concerned.

The Norfolk run is always interesting. Last time it was a pile of sand in my car. This year when I got home I discovered a bunch of cow parsley wrapped around the osf brake line.

How did that happen...? Image

Thoroughly enjoyed yesterday. The car has been parked up for the last few months so it was nice to blow off a few cobwebs.

Good to have the mobile-mechanics on standby for my ungrounded gauges!!

Looking forward to meeting a few of you on the run to JapFest.

Looks like Harry Potter was waving his magic wand on it.

I knew I put the tools in the boot for a reason:).
