Cambelt / oil pump / water pump change - Essex
I noticed yesterday that my cambelt is rather more overdue than I thought, and it really could do with changing ASAP. While it would be interesting to take the DIY route, I just don't think I'll have the time, and I could do with getting it done before giving it abuse at Santa Pod
Anyone have any recommendations on a garage to do it? Near Colchester, Witham, Chelmsford or Dagenham would be preferable.

Way too far really. I'm waiting for a call back from the closest decent garage to me. Not an MR2 specialist or anything like that, but belt and water pump (oil pump not a service item apparently?) changes aren't hugely different from car to car. Of course if there is a more MR2 specific place around I'd rather give them my money to support them more than anything else!

Going to DIY it with a couple of friends - the quotes were just too high for me! Parts (all genuine Toyota where possible) cost me ~£300 from TCB. How hard can it be?

Pulled the belt off the engine I had whilst it was out, wasn't difficult but I can see it being a PITA with engine in situ. Let us know how you get on/when you're going to do it as I could do with a butchers whilst it's in the bay.

Who's got the skinniest hands? That's probably going to be the most useful attribute

Getting the crank pulley off, and refitting the wrap around engine mount bracket are the most fun parts.
I've done a few with the engine in, and its not a nice job to be honest.
