Nice pics Jim.
I've got to agree the Katsu curry was really good, could eat that stuff all day! I did miss the Japanese culture display though...
Slightly annoying we missed the entrance photos but there's always next year

Gates for exhibitors opened at 7.30am. We arrived at 8am. I think the photographer had a lie in!

oh a heads up stu, one of the stewards was asking about feedback, but youd gone (he wanted a chat with the organiser per club), but guess everyone will put up feedback on their facebook page.

Re: New Japanese Car & Bike Show Sunday 12th June Essex
my only minor gripe was the music.
not sure they needed a band as such.
i think they need to be sure of the "average" age range of the owners that own these japanese cars.
generally speaking not the same age group as your american classic owners etc.
perhaps a DJ playing more modern music would have been more suitable? but guess you cant please everyones music tastes!

I agree. Was a bit loud too! Especially Terry and his guitar solo!

Re: New Japanese Car & Bike Show Sunday 12th June Essex
My lad noticed a drone floating about overhead sometime the back of 11. Don't know if that was an exhibitor, the organisers or a local therefore no idea where any footage might be.
Weather clearly help back the public, but I'm not altogether sure how well publicised it was in local press/radio, certainly wasn't in the Chelmsford Weekly News. My lad first noticed its existence right back at New Year when the MoP had a list of 2016 events displayed by the miniature railway station.

The publicity side of things was my concern some time ago. Probably their biggest challenge is getting the public to come along. They did manage to get some good support from car clubs but it's the paying public that were few in numbers I felt. The weather put off a lot of people for sure.
They were asking for drone flyers but I've no idea if the one that was there was related to the show.

Not sure exactly where I was at that time. I didn't notice it.S81933 wrote:My lad noticed a drone floating about overhead sometime the back of 11. Don't know if that was an exhibitor, the organisers or a local therefore no idea where any footage might be.
Interesting. Many amateur drone operators are completely ignorant of the rules. I hope the organisers were aware and explained them to prospective pilots: seestuMR2lee wrote:They were asking for drone flyers but I've no idea if the one that was there was related to the show.

No idea Tony. I wasn't the organiser of this event only our stand! Up to them to satisfy any relevant rules & regulations.

Sheesh. I know that!stuMR2lee wrote:No idea Tony. I wasn't the organiser of this event only our stand!
Only up to a point. The organisers would have a duty of care to bring the CAA rules to the attention of pilots and make observance thereof a condition of entry to the show. However actual compliance remains the responsibility of each individual pilot at all times. If it all went pete tong it will be the latter who may be subject to criminal prosecution for a breach. Likewise they may be pursued in civil court by anybody who gets hurt or has their property damaged.stuMR2lee wrote:Up to them to satisfy any relevant rules & regulations.
Mark Spencer was prosecuted for flying a drone at Alton Towers. No video as the youtube footage was taken down.
Robert Knowles lost control of his and RTH didn't work. Owing to where it subsequently flew that was a very expensive mistake: £4,300! - https://youtu.be/hriyv8WRHg4
So if any member is a current/prospective drone pilot, you heard it here first.
