Leaving an hour later means it might take less than 30 minutes to get through the tunnel!
If you're not living life on the edge, you're taking up too much room!

All good, we'll probably head in before that as it'll be cold!

New venue next month. While the food is decent enough and the staff are friendly, the wait times for food are getting silly. Looking at options.

Closed indefinitely unfortunately. Reading between the lines it's a cashflow problem.

Mark Mascar is described as a 'catering expert', but his LinkedIn profile gives a somewhat different perspective. A 13 year gap between leaving college and the first job listed on his CV. No mention whatsoever of any specific catering experience (why?) other than having worked as a 19 year old silver service waiter on the QE2...
His partner Angela Buckley was the sole director of two consulting firms both of which were subject to compulsory strike-off in 2015.
The site has an unfortunate track record of businesses closing. I don't think car club meets are a solid foundation for a roadside eatery. It requires volume passing trade and I'm not convinced that there was enough of it. It's easy to miss and the entrance/exit having minimal splays onto a fast d/c don't help plus the main car park area isn't obvious. It makes the site look small and cramped.
A restuarant requires a considerable capital investment especially if the previous incarnation has gone to the wall. Even if the cash flow was positive I would hazard a guess that he took on too much debt and hasn't been able to service it.
I have seen close up (as I did the accounts for one) how risky the restaurant business can be and how easily it can implode. It's no place for an enthusiastic hobbyist. You have to be totally focussed and on top of your game otherwise it will chew you up and spit you out.
I see it's up to let rather than for sale - https://propertylink.estatesgazette.com ... nd-cm8-3hb
Back to the DoW next time: or how about the Six Bells in Boreham?
