Likewise. Had a rear braided line fail during the MOT test. Glad I put it in early as it could have been a bit 'interesting' if it had happened on Sunday morning...

Turned out that it hadn't been installed correctly (not by me or Patrick). It had been slightly twisted thus chafing slightly on the inner arch for a considerable time. Also discovered one of the rear inner pads was worn very unevenly (tapered), plus both rear discs had become lipped over the years (Carbotechs are quite aggresssive). Decide to bite the bullet, so new rear rotors + pads, and a complete set of 4 new braided lines.

Pads bedded in now and ready for KR action. :)

With the recent cc rad failure (replaced the pump as well as a precaution) and having to get new headlight casings from Rogue to replace the old rusted out ones my credit card has taken a proper hammering over the last few weeks.

No respite next month either as our son decided some time ago to chose that one for his wedding.

URGENT UPDATE! I may not be able to be there tomorrow as I am currently in a hospital bed! You all have the route map so please go ahead with this event as well as the DC run. If I am discharged in time I will be attending. I don't have my mobile with me at this time and I am using a borrowed tablet to make this post, so I won't see any response on here.

Oh no Tony. I hope nothing too serious?!?! I guess it depends what it is but I don't think you should be jumping back in a car the very next day.

I don't know about the rest of you but I wouldn't feel comfortable doing a KR when our illustrious leader is in hospital and I don't want to encourage TLF to get behind the wheel at this moment in time when we don't know what is going on.

I vote to cancel and join the DC run (if not too late). What do you all think?

Get well soon tony, hoping it's nothing too serious.

I've got to agree to cancel the Kent run. Or as another option we could meet for breakfast at our usual spot then head out to the dc event as originally planned.

Really sorry guys but regrettably I'm going to have to drop out, while bleeding the brakes this afternoon its become apparent that the master cylinder has failed (peddle just keeps pumping to the floor). I'm going to have to get a new one swapped in before the car can go anywhere. Really gutted as I was looking forward to getting out in the 2 for the first time in a while.

Sorry to let you down TLF, its obviously not been my year for Kent runs

I got a master cylinder off these guys:

You need to know if it's 2 bolt or 4 bolt or abs or non-abs.

Hpe you get it sorted.

You can't get rid of me that easily. :laughing

It was something that needed to be diagnosed urgently.
They did a stack of blood and other tests and I've just got back home.
They will be following up with me next week as an outpatient.
The consultant says I will be fine to drive tomorrow morning

So AFAIAC the KR (+DC) is going ahead as planned. :th:

Thanks to everyone who has posted/texted me. Sentiments much appreciated. :D
