Highland drive theme night- urgent response needed please

Post by Ripley »

Hi guys, for those joining us on the Highland Drive 2015 I have been asked what our "theme" will be for this year. We normally have fancy dress. I know not everyone likes this so I'm putting it to a vote. The Morefield is looking for a speedy reply as they want to be organised so

The suggested theme night is Halloween or witches and warlocks

If you want the theme night (either Halloween or witches and warlocks) and are happy to dress up vote YES

If you'd rather not have a theme night vote NO

Pop your names below and copy and paste please folks, thanks :th:

Btw, you do realise don't you that witch and warlock are not in fact gender specific? That misconception is largely due to the misogynistic outlook of the Christian Church subsequent to the Norman conquest. A man can be a witch and a woman can be a warlock. The latter word is Scottish dating from the late 17th century. In the 16th it was written as warlok. It's derived from the Old English wǣrloga which means liar or oath breaker. Thus a warlock is a witch (male or female) who has broken faith with the group or coven. To a male witch, calling him a warlock is actually an insult!

I trust you'll be bringing the Audi. It's a tad difficult to fit a cauldron in a MR2... :)

D**n! Looks like I'll have to leave T2 at home and try to borrow a mate's car. :)

Even if I can twist his arm, it's going to blow a monster hole in my fuel budget.
It's a rather quick estate. Same vintage as T2. Any guesses what it might be? ;) :drive1:

Call it Wizards and Witches then, though we will have to be careful of wizard's sleeves getting caught in car doors.

I will go with the majority Ann, which would appear to be witches and warlocks.
