Will they fit???
Evening all, I'm looking at buying some new wheels for my Rev 2 MK2. I know I need 5x114.3 and have found a nice set but they're 18", tyres are 255/35/18 8.5 j. Does anyone know if these will fit OK without and modifications to the arches or suspension?

Oh, well thats not the answer I was hoping for. I've ready somewhere that 255 should go on the rear, the seller of the wheels has suggested putting 235 tyres on the front wheels. Would that make a difference? If I need to have smaller wheels on the front then its going to make finding a second hand pair a lot harder

18s will make the ride suck.
You might get 255s to fit the rear (might need an arch roll or a bit of camber), and in my experience fitting oversized tyres in the front will cause more tram-lining over and above any fitting problems you have to overcome.
17s tend to be a popular choice as you get a better selection of tyres and still scope for some sidewall.

8.5J on the front is too wide and very likely to result in the tyre rubbing on the arch liner on turns.
Also 255 is the maximum section tyre width for a 8.5J wheel

Furthermore the OP has left out a rather crucial bit of info. The wheel offset.

18s same width all round: sounds like they're off a Nissan (Silvia/Skyline).
