Japfest South East (Kent crew) convoy
Google Maps says 1hr 39mins - https://goo.gl/maps/DLzVgXh14LA2
But that's 'the usual traffic' which probably won't be the case next Sunday.
I haven't been to Japfest since it moved from Combe so have no clue about queues.
Lets say meet at Clacket from 06.45 and depart as soon as we're all there,
Definitely no later than 07.00 though.
The Highways Agency love closing sections of m/ways & major roads on Sundays.
As I discovered early this morning...

Re: Japfest South East convoy
not sure which way your coming in but there is a main road way, or come off the duel carriage a little early and go cross country. I took it by mistake and got in the grounds 20mins before the rest

Re: Japfest South East (Kent crew) convoy
We're going M40/A43. The majority will probably be arrving via the main d/c.
So we may decide to turn off at Brackley (A422) and reach the circuit from the south past Stowe Park.

Access to Silverstone is pretty good because of Formula 1. Last year it didn't take too long, was much more efficient than Combe.
Lets hope our access is via Copse Tunnel again.

Re: Japfest South East (Kent crew) convoy
I should hope not! The roads to Combe were never designed to handle the volume of traffic Japfest created.
The 10th anniversary event was an utter shambles: not helped in any way by hopelessly inept marshalling at the entrance gates. Another year some prat among those attending decides a RTC is a great way to start the day...

Should be able to make the convoy. Do you mind if i publicise it on facebook as people have been asking about a convoy from the SE? Weather is looking good. Hope they give us a good (and decently sized) area to park!

Re: Japfest South East (Kent crew) convoy
Any idea (roughly) what time you'll be heading past either the top end of the A34 (M40 J9) or the A43 Services? I'm coming up from Kidlington (literally about 5 miles south of the M40) and wouldn't mind timing it to meet up with a convoy if possible.

Re: Japfest South East (Kent crew) convoy
Rough timing, 08.15 at J9. J10 6 minutes after whatever time we reach J9.
We won't be stopping at the Cherwell Services though.
J10 makes more sense for a RV as you can lurk here.
Unlike at J9 we won't be coming through there at 70mph!

Re: Japfest South East (Kent crew) convoy
Not too fond of the idea of "lurking" on a roundabout (or where you'd suggest I wait on/near it), so I'll probably try and hit J9 a few minutes before you and pootle up at 60 and let you catch me up, hoping that I haven't missed you. If I don't see another '2 before J10 I'll head on up and meet you guys at Silverstone.

If anyone has a smartphone they can use a location sharing app to give a live location for timing purposes.
