Aye, been on a run over the Peaks with a 2GR in a Mk1, was mentally quick. Shame I'm not. The car is quick, can't wait to dyno it, but I'm not called Captain slow for nothing!

Thanks for everyone who had a hand in organising the meet and the convoys... was good to see so many cars and catch up with some old friends as well as puts some new faces to names :th:

Alas my day was punctuated (boom boom!) by this little issue:

Thankfully, even though I missed lunch and most of the SE Convoy, I still made the main meet :th:

Will do this evening :)

Indeed, I think it works well. Olympus DSLRs have quite an 'arty' colour profile so it works quite well with that I think.

I've got a Sigma 60-200mm and an Olympus OM 28mm on the way too!

Rally route, you ain't kidding! :laughing I thought we were going to drive into the clouds at one point!
Unsurprising given you went over the highest public road in Wales.
The Bwlch yr Efengyl (aka Gospel Pass) at 1801ft - see above.

No need for the '...' marks above btw. You should try it at night.
Like I did in 1972 at full chat in my BDA engined Mk1 Escort Mexico.
Flying was an accurate description at some points...

The view from the top in better weather is spectacular - http://goo.gl/gkU0h5
Going that way you don't want to overcook it on the approach - http://goo.gl/lgL9kh
It's a nasty drop and you're likely to end up a l o n g way from the road!
If you're not living life on the edge, you're taking up too much room!

It's official - AW is 'Rear of the Year'. ;)

The OC's answer to Olly Murs - or maybe John Barrowman!

I didn't have a clue where we were until the road suddenly opened up and there it all was, absolutely stunning road, pleasure to drive it

The cloud capped mountain in the background is Twmpa aka 'Lord Hereford's Knob'!
There's even a song about it - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LlRrdbkyV8w
