Berk on mine, with Berk Decat. It's loud. Much louder than I thought, given the reviews on here. Good noise though. :)

Drones something awful at an indicated 70mph. Fortunately an indicated 70mph is (according to the GPS) an actual 62.5.. At a GPS-indicated 70 all is actually quite serene!

I had a japspeed on my previous turbo. It had a huge hole in it. THAT was loud. Gorgeous noise. Sounded like a NASCAR.

Cough V6 .

Now that is loud! :bleh:

Good thing about the SARD is that there is no drones at any revs, just great for a daily and the highland drive :)

True. At a speedo 70mph (more related to the rpm though) the Berk does drone. Get it up to 80 and it's very quiet.

I've welded an extra silencer into the mid pipe of my Blitz NUR R, it is a fair bit quieter now and has had little effect on the performance.

Holy thread resurrection...

I have a mongoose with no cat on my gen 4 turbo. The drone is awful!

Unless I wait for something decent to come up 2nd hand, I don't see any other option than to get something custom made.

Any advice?

I know bungs reduce noise but do they reduce drone as well? Andy

Had a Japspeed before I got the turbo conversion done. It was far too loud but after putting bungs in it it was bearable.

Running a berk system now which is pretty much perfect.

Indeed.

Another alternative to the custom route unless a twin exit is a must have.

Good shout.

I should try bungs first to see if they do actually remove the drone.

Paul at TCB managed to get me that HKS exhaust a few months ago - worth a shout if you decide to go for it. Really high quality item and not noisy or droney at all.

Just one caveat. The 409 in the product title refers to the material used in the bulk of the system (except the back box and tail pipe) - https://www.hks-power.co.jp/en/product/ ... index.html

It's nowhere near the quality of SUS304.* My Blitz Nur-Spec R was on T2 when I bought it, so is at least 11½ years old. Only a few tiny specks of surface rust around a couple of the welds.** Still none on the pipework. I also have a HKS Super Drager so can compare the two.

* https://help.summitracing.com/app/answe ... s-steel%3F

** The quality of the welding on the Nur-Spec is streets ahead of other exhausts imo.
