In 9 years of owning MR2s I've never had an n/a. So I thought I would give it a go.
You may have seen pics of it before - http://www.mr2oc.co.uk/forums/125/159074.html
The azure is currently SORNed. T2 is in Stockton having some work done.

I think it's a West Midlands thing. A bit like that strange dialect you have. :p

The standard 0-60 times tell their own story. 2 seconds is an age. :)
If you're used to 300+ bhp it merely magnifies the situation.

Bear in mind that I've only had the car for 4 weeks and am still getting to grips.
Sunday was the first time I have had a chance to wind up the elastic.

The main difference I found is the comparative lack of torque.
That means overtakes require a much greater degree of anticipation.
On roads you don't already know that can make a big difference.

Not quite up to T2 handling wise but that has a lot of mods.
Plus it could benefit from some better quality round black things.
I'll do that at the same time as fitting my 16" Enkei Peaks.
Got to finish refurbing them first though.
There is a slight pull to one side so needs a geo check too.
Plus as Vinny helpfully pointed out the n/s/f wing needs a repaint.

All minor things which I need to sort out over the coming months.

It's also so much quieter, especially at the legal limit on a motorway.
The only way I can tell if the engine is running is to watch the rev counter!
If you're not living life on the edge, you're taking up too much room!

Got to say I was chuffed with my NA on the run, amazing what these cars give when you ask more of them. Thought mine pulled pretty well TBH

Very reassuring to follow other drivers more experienced than me with the mk2s, thanks to the west mids crew :th:

Really happy with the AD08r yokos running on 16" Enkei , so sure footed. Black billies and apex springs out front firm but not at all jittery

For a very cheap car these 2s really deliver !

Suzie dog slept through most of it though ..

I think all the cars and drivers were a credit to themselves and didn't come close to disgracing themselves, considering the age of some of them :laughing

After a few minor niggles with mine recently, after 9 hours in it I didn't feel fatigued or sore or bored of driving when I got home, what a testament to a 21 year old car, especially what it went through!

Here is a vid of the Pass we took which was both unexpected and epic!!!

http://youtu.be/BFdVuNrzJX0

Although I think we did it in the opposite direction (I think) with snow and ice and a bit more gusto!

Massive thanks to Alan, Vinny and Wedge for the route, I want to go back and do it again tomorrow! BTW, those roads we found after the pub toilet stop near Stow on the Wold were awesome!

I did laugh when Pete was up my backside and I kept him at bay with a dab of throttle, then braked for a corner and Wedge came past us both at warp 9 out of nowhere :D

Think I missed that one, we weren't short of sideways action on our route through the Forest of Dean, or in fact all the route

Haha!

I guess there is always one hey?

I fell victim to a bit of heavy braking ending up sideways on the SE run, caravan pulled out in the middle of the road just after a humped bridge!

But yeah, always one, bless him, he tried!
