Looks like they're keeping a close eye on things up there right now.
Best behaviour everyone!

Are we there yet?

That's not news. A guy I know who lives in Shieldaig says it's a regular known hot spot for the cops to perform speed checks. Here's why:

There are several places for them to park up off road. Scroll forward in the second link and you'll see their favourite location - the layby on the left. If you go back the other way you'll find the houses and station at Achanalt. Not the most sensible place for doing warp factor 9!

That will be Good Friday then... ;)

Also be careful further on at the 40 limit approaching the roundabout at Achnasheen. That's another place they like to lurk. Those who were on a previous Drive will remember seeing a police car going the other way as we were on the A890 heading towards that roundabout. The Achnasheen to Lochcarron stretch of that road is the fastest of any in the whole of north west Scotland.

Getting ready for the long haul tomorrow. Looking forward to a 50 mile taster from Barnard Castle to Brampton. Especially the section over the fells between Forest-in-Teesdale and Alston.

Due to Family commitments I won't be leaving Ireland until the 19-30 ferry from Belfast on Thursday, arriving at 22:15 or thereabouts. I am then heading straight to Ullapool and should arrive at 04-30 at the latest.

Then some sleep and on the road to catch up with you lot on the way to Applecross :clapping:

Enjoy your journeys and be safe, see you all soon.
