Re: JDMCombe Saturday 10th June 2017
My entry pass arrived yesterday. So hopefully everyone else should have theirs too.
The excellent news is that our stand is no longer in the back of beyond!
We're in the paddock area and will be going in via the Camp entrance.

The joys of not many going Tony A few years ago when we used to have 50 cars on the stand we were always to big to be there !
For those going on track, quarry corner now has big foam barriers. We went to watch some MR2 racing at the weekend and saw a Civic hit them twice quite hard and it didn't have a lot of damage so they do a good job !

I think you'll find that's true of the paddock area at most tracks!
We'll be going in through the Purple Gate at Camp.
Our stand is near the Tavern, right opposite Merlin Motorsport.
A stone's throw from scrutineering/noise testing as well.

You should have a more detailed map of the area with your entry pass.
It's also a much shorter walk to get to Quarry.
The last two years down at Bobbies made that a right PITA...

Re: JDMCombe Saturday 10th June 2017
Well my iphone has been saying its raining all day saturday so was planning on ditching the track sessions if it was wet.
However it is now saying it will be sunny and 21c so looks like i will be out on track.
Im bringing my dad for the day out as he has just bought a na mr2 but hes not wanting to go on track with me so if anyone fancies it then i think its only a fiver to become a passenger if anyone fancies it.

Re: JDMCombe Saturday 10th June 2017
Well I've not long got home, I'm sun burned and somehow managed to pick up a oil leak on the way home but, I had a excellent day, sorry I wasn't too social im shy to a fault around new people then my diabetes went a bit nuts later in the day so wasn't in a social mood.
I kind of wish id done a track session as it looked like crazy fun but I think I would have been eaten alive out there

Re: JDMCombe Saturday 10th June 2017
I was a bit disappointed on the 2 sessions i done today.
Session 1 was red carded 8 mins in.
Session 2 was all ok but for some reason only 11mins.
Wrote an email to castle combe complaining i didnt get my full 15mins worth on each session.
Maybe i did this as found my exhaust manifold is leaking gases on the way home :(
Pics and youtube vid on their way

Re: JDMCombe Saturday 10th June 2017
Well at least your track sessions were vaguely more successful than my 5 minute outing on track Mark albeit not what you wanted or expected. I look forward to the video.
Having finally got on on track after several years trying I got suck behind a Civic who had no concept of spatial awareness for a couple of laps before I could finally come through. However shortly after and down to my red mist I then completely over cooked it going into camp going wide and fortunately managed to take it along the grass rather than being collected in the wall however all my front under trays were destroyed in the process and on further inspection I have a leak in my charge cooler pipework losing coolant and my passenger floor will never quite be the same shape again I don't think :face palm:
Shocking bit of driving from me, the worst of my memory however in part it teaches me about etiquette or lack of on show days. Completely my fault though Another call to Patrick....
On a more positive note, thank you for organising TLF it was a very pleasant day out even with the early start. Not quite as big an event as when Japfest was there however getting in was a breeze and the track action remained entertaining
