BGB - known error list

Post by SonicSW20 »

Anyone who's used the PDF workshop manuals extensively that are floating around on the net have probably come across a few errors here and there with torque values. Perhaps we should get a list of them together?

A one I have come across recently, from the 1993 US market manual:

Front ball joint to control arm - 103Nm listed in the overview page.
Front ball joint to axle carrier: 113Nm listed in the overview page.

Just a couple pages down, different values are listed:

I'd say the lower values are right as SA-30 Lower Suspension Arm also lists the 78Nm value for ball joint to control arm, and certainly for the ball joint to axle carrier as they aren't very big bolts!

There may be different revisions of the book around for the same year so please include a link to your copy.

Any more I find I'll post here, and post any you find yourselves!

Another one, from one of the 1991 Rev1/2 manuals.

18Nm for valve cover to cylinder head? Absolutely not!

The manual states 2.5Nm elsewhere.

There's text in both the PAS and ABS diagnostic instructions that tell you to bridge Te and E1, but it actually means Tc and E1 (which is what's pictured)
