Up come some warning lights.
Hi guys.
On my drive to work this morning I was toodleing to work as normal and all of the sudden 3 warning lights came on.
For no reason.
The 3 lights are in the photos are the battery light. Next to it some sort of hot thingy and on the other side a engine and fan.
When I got to work I put a meter on the battery and it appears not seem to be charging. I’ve checked all the fuses and there fine.
Does this mean me alternator has given up?
Any ideas would be great.
Many thanks

My video about diagnosing and changing the alternator:
Note, I believe the trick to get the alt out only applies to NAs...

Hi Guys.
Picked up a brand new alternator from flee bay and fitted it today.
Talk about a pain in the bum job. Not a lot of room to remove it.
All fitted and no warning lights.
Sorted

Re: Up come some warning lights.
Usually its just the brushes that go. The Koyo bearings in these are very high quality. I would probably keep your old one for parts. They are not hard to rebuild unless it smoked like mine did, in which case the diode pack went and the winding insulation failed. I just rebuilt a second hand one. The regulator is probably okay.
