Slipping clutch. Maybe not
Hi Guys.
As most of you are aware that I have a 2GRFE 3.5 V6 conversion in my Mr2 turbo recently fitted my Rogue Motorsport.
I have a new fault.
When the cars hot but not done many miles everything is fine but after about a hours journey or been in heavy traffic and everything is cooking.
Once you hit the open road again and floor it the clutch starts to slip quite badly.
I stopped for about 1 hour at the services to let everything cool and it was back to normal.
Now this car has had a new stage 3 clutch fitted by rogue when they did the conversion.
It’s very rare a new stage 3 clutch will slip so it’s something else.
Is it possible that the limited slip differential in the gearbox is nackered?
Has anybody else experienced this with a high power turbo or big V6?
As the oil gets really hot in the gearbox the worse the problem gets.
Is there a cure for this?
Maybe fit a oil cooler to the gearbox to keep the temps down in the gearbox to help the limited slip diff?
Or just fit a new gearbox without a limited slip diff?
Many thanks

On the assumption you haven't burnt out the clutch by riding it while in that heavy traffic or doing 5k launches at the lights, I would suggest taking it back to Rogue and getting Matt to look into your problem.APDevelopments wrote: ↑12/08/19 18:17 When the cars hot but not done many miles everything is fine but after about a hours journey or been in heavy traffic and everything is cooking.

I've had T2 (~300bhp) for 10 years now and never had the issue you describe.

Re: Slipping clutch. Maybe not
Yep - a clutch is simple enough to diagnose and resolve. Take it back and let them have a look.

Hi guys.
Yes Matt is due to have the car back shortly but just discussing what the fault could be.
Many thanks
