HKS Hi Power 409 - TCB parts

Post by mr2-man »

Hey folks - decided to replace the exhaust while its off (as I was doing an alternator swap - which was a very messy dirty and unpleasent job). Going for the HKS Hi Power 409. Just wondering if anyone else has this exhaust - and had any thoughts on it/any pictures? I'm hoping it'll fit without having to mangle the rear black grill thing. I couldn't really find any chat about it from a search of the forum. Failing which, I'll post some up once it's fitted. Not sure it'll look or sound better than my old mr with the nur spec, but it'll have to do!

Also, just a shout out to Paul at TCB - I didn't even realise he did performance parts, but when I called today to get replacement oem studs/gaskets etc. I was chatting to him about this exhaust, and he was able to get it for me not only with a quicker lead time than others, but at a cheaper price. I think he's working on a new website, but if anyone needs performance parts, it's definetly worth giving him a call.

Cheers

smart looking exhaust
you actually like the grill ? many folks remove/bend it up to show of the exhaust
Not Plan B again!! Why don't we just go with plan B in the first place?

I don't mind it - but I did bend the grill in my old mr so might end up doing the same. Arrived today - which was rapid, although had some very small scuffs on the backbox section which was annoying. Will get some more pics up when it's fitted - but seems to be a really well constructed system.

Pictures of it fitted for anyone interested! Build quality is great - fitment spot on and much easier than stock. And on a bone stock rev 2 turbo, it feels quicker and really isn't that much louder than stock.

Looks smart! And Paul is very good for anything MR2 related, I've bought many bits off him over the years and they've always been decent, and decent prices.
