Black /white (silver?) backing of gauge cluster
My mk2 rev 1 (1991, LHD) has a gauge cluster white/silver backing. Can anyone tell me if this is the standard version for the model/revision or has a previous owner replaced this? I would prefer to have a black version, is it possible to replace this (without having to disassemble the entire vehicle )?
On the same subject: the illumination behind the cluster is blue, looks like LED lighting (although the dimmer works). Is this standard or aftermarket (needs replacing/repairing anyway as the lighting is very uneven so I suspect some of the bulb/leds have malfunctioned .
Any suggestions very welcome, thanks!

The silver backing along with LED’ s is aftermarket. Need to pull whole gage cluster to bring back to stock. Not a hard job but can be fiddly.
